Rules and Regulations

 

 

California Pole Dance Championship General Competitor Requirements:

1. Contestants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the competition.
2. Contestants must have valid identification on the day of the competition.
3. Contestants must sign a Release Form before the competition.
4. Contestants must conduct themselves properly at all times during the competition.

The Competition:

Music/Set length

1. The contestant may choose the music for her show. The final song selection must be received by the organizer at least 10 days prior to the competition.
2. The contestant’s performance must be a minimum of 3 minutes and maximum of 4 minutes long. Songs will be cut if they run over time.                                                                                                                           3. No back up dancers or other people are permitted on stage during the contestant’s performance.

Costume:

1. The performers will not perform nude or partially nude.
2. Performers must wear full bottoms; no g-strings or thongs will be permitted.
3. The removal of certain articles of costume is allowed, as long as a bra or bikini top and full bottoms remain on at all times.                                                                                                                                           4. Bare feet, high heels, or boots are allowed.
5. Use of any props must first be signed off by the competition organizer.
6. Outfits must not promote an individual dance studio or pole dance business. (You may include the name of the studio you own, instruct at, or attend within you introduction announcement.)

2. Judging:
The panel of judges will factor the following elements into the scoring of each contestant’s performance:
1. Clear and concise precision during each move, transition and trick
2. Variation of tricks and level of difficulty
3. Elegant and fluid movements
4. Flexibility
5. Demonstration of skill and strength
6. Originality in combinations of sequences, tricks and movements on and around the pole                            7. Artistic presentation; competitors should have a unique individual style of their own.
8. Movement interpretation according to the music and rhythm
The overall winner will be the one with the highest accumulated points from all categories.

The California Pole Dance *Allstar Champion  *Allstar 2nd Place  *Allstar 3rd Place

The California Pole Dance *Neo Champion   *Neo 2nd Place  *Neo 3rd Place

Medals of recognition will also be awarded to:                                                                                          • Most Athletic• Most Entertaining • Most Flexible • Most Artistic These awards will be given to the contestants who score highest in these individual categories.
